Sheila S. Whiting

 

Sheila is the wife of Pastor Louis G. Whiting, the mother of three adult children, Sean, Joy (Joseph) and Jazmine and the proud grandmother of Maximus, Melanie, Joseph III, Josiah , Joshua and Cayden.

She matriculated through the school of ministry at the National Church of God, located on Bock Road in Oxon Hill Maryland, under Dr. T. L. Lowery, where they were ordained.   Later, she and her husband served as minister and Elder at the Reach Out for Life Christian Ministry in Forestville, MD, for over fifteen years.   She now serves as Pastor alongside her husband Louis at the My Father’s House Christian Church, International, located in Alexandria, Virginia.  In addition to her role as pastor, she has direct responsibility and oversight for the Praise and Worship Music Ministry, Gifted Women in Ministry women’s ministry and  church operations. 

Sheila was raised here in the City of Alexandria where she graduated from T. C. Williams High School.  She holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree from the American University, located in Washington, DC and she has completed some graduate course work at Regent University in the field of Education.

Sheila is currently employed by the City of Alexandria and is the Regional Program Director at the Charles Houston Recreation Center.

She loves to laugh, read, sing, and watch western movies.  She is grateful for the  love and saving grace of Jesus Christ and is very blessed that an awesome King would redirect her life for His purpose.  Her favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans that I have for you declares the Lord, plans for welfare, and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.”  KINGDOM living is God’s promise for an obedient people, therefore, she endeavors to be obedient to the Father’s will for His Kingdom to come and for His will to be done in earth as it is done in Heaven.
